En Clase:

  • Tomaron una evaluación de preposiciones de lugar
    • You took an assessment on locational prepositions
  • Trabajaron en sus hojas de investigación de una receta
    • You worked on your recipe research sheets. Here is a copy if you've lost it.  
  • Un grupo en cada clase fue a City Market para buscar los ingredientes
    • A group in each class went to City Market to look for ingredients.
Tarea:
  • Finish your recipe research form.  Remember, I want complete sentences EN ESPAÑOL. I gave you the sentence start to #3 so you just have to list characteristics in Spanish.

  • Corregimos la tarea de anoche.
  • Investigaron sus recetas y empezaron a destacarlas.
    • You researched your recipes and started highlighting them.
Tarea:
  • Study for the locational prepositions assessment tomorrow. There is a prepositions folder on my google site with all the stuff you've gotten on there!
  • COME TO CLASS with a PRINTED OUT copy of your recipe highlighted according to these instructions:
    • Verbs highlighted in one color
    • Food nouns highlighted in a different color
    • Measurement devices/cooking stuff (frying pan, pot, bowl) underlined.
  • Here is an example to help you.

  • Practicamos con las preposiciones de lugar
    • We practiced with place prepositions. See the prepositions folder on my DP for practice sheets and the start we did today.
  • Introduje el trabajo "La poesía de la comida"
    • I introduced "The poetry of food" project
  • Hablamos de los verbos de cocinar y llenamos una tabla de los irregulares.
    • We talked about cooking verbs and filled out a chart on the irregulars.
Tarea:
  • Fill out the feedback survey for the Art and Language project.  Due by the end of the day on Wednesday (midnight).

DP Update & Project Feedback Form - Arte y Lengua

Please fill out this feedback form and send it in. You will receive 10 participation points for completing this form in a thorough and thoughtful manner. If you have no comment on one question, that is ok, but you should have comments for most of the questions. 


Your DPs should have these items:

  1. Título: "Arte y Lengua"
  2. Descripción del trabajo: 3-8 sentences in English explaining what this project involved.
  3. Una copia de tu declaración del artista final
  4. Una foto de ti con tu obra de arte (see Becca's google site for this file)
  5. Una reflexión: 5-15 sentences in English discussing your take-aways from this project.  Consider the following questions:

a.  What did you learn from this project (culture/grammar/vocab)?
b.  What did you learn from the revisions process?
c.  What did you learn about the artist you studied?
d.  What were you proud of from this project? Why?
e.  What would you do differently next time?
f.   What was challenging about this project?
g.  What habit of heart and mind or 21st century learning skill was important to your success on this project?

Deadlines!!!

Your notecards with your scripts must be ready for class tomorrow (Thursday).  


These things are due IN YOUR FOLDER (please see me if you don't have one) at the beginning of class on Friday:


1) Final Artist's Statement w/ the following header:
Declaración del Artista  (THIS SHOULD BE: Declaración de la Artista if you are a FEMALE)
por __tu nombre___ (yes, por = by, and then put your name as the author of the piece ej. por Jack Johnson)


**There should not be any vocabulary on this final exhibition-quality copy.  That should appear on old drafts.  If it doesn't appear on old drafts, make a list and inlude it in your folder.***


2) The rubric with the word count written on it
3) All old drafts from the revision process (everyone should have at least 2 drafts)
4) Notecards w/ speaking notes
5) Color print-out of a piece by your artist.  This piece should be the one you studied if you based your art off of a particular piece.

  • No required homework this week unless you don't use your class time well and have to do revisions at home.
  • There are some new "Mixed Old Stuff" review quizzes on Quia.  Check them out! Once you submit your answers you will get my sample answers.  Keep track of any about which you're confused and ask me in class!
