New Improved GOOGLE SITE!!!

Tu maestra muy inteligente finalmente ha hecho un sitio organizado de GOOGLE.  

For (almost) all of the stuff we've done this year, you can now go to the Español 1 Files subpage of Becca's google site and you'll find it all there.  Of particular note is the folder labeled "Review/Repaso" in which you will find the review worksheets from the packet you received this week and an answer key for all of those sheets.

Review/Repaso

Hey Students-

If you are excited about reviewing "old stuff," there are a lot of practice quizzes posted on my quia site and there are also a lot of vocabulary activities available at conjuguemos's site.  Some of the vocab. units we've done here are: colors, House: daily routines, and many of the body parts words.

I will also come with some hard-copy mixed review handouts on Wednesday!

Para el fin de semana largo

Hey folks -- For the long weekend, here are some things to keep in mind!
  1. I will be giving you about 2 hours 15 minutes to work next week between Wednesday and Friday. Please plan accordingly and get work done over the long weekend.  
  2. If you have a project where you are doing most of your work outside of class, I will have review packets and steps for our writing phase ready for you to work on in class next week.
  3. Your final pieces are due on February 27th at 3:15pm.  
  4. There will be an assessment on "mixed old stuff" and telling time (along with time expressions like "¿Qué hora es?" and "de la mañana" "en punto" "de la tarde" "de la noche" etc.  Most of these terms are in your packet or we have worked with them in class.
If you missed the presentation on Dalí, here is the powerpoint with notes. I want you to know the definition of surrealism and the symbols you see.

    • Your rough sketch (verbal, in English, or an actual sketch that you turn in separately from your email) of your piece
    • The 2+ ways in which you will be influenced/inspired by your mentor.

  • Study body parts vocab (see the blog post below this for a link to the conjuguemos site) for the assessment tomorrow.
  • Here is an answer key for the homework (body parts and numbers) from last night.
  • FINISH your artist research form if you haven't finished it yet!!!  It's due by the end of the day tomorrow.

Partes del Cuerpo

You can practice body parts on conjuguemos, but here are some things you should know:
  • (the) ears - I taught you "(las) orejas" but conjuguemos uses "los oídos".  You can use either - I don't care.
  • There are other words we don't have as vocab. SO YOU DON'T HAVE  TO KNOW THESE WORDS but you will see them:
    • the jaw = la mandíbula
    • the cheek = la mejilla
    • the hip = la cadera
    • the abdomen = el abdomen
    • the thigh = el muslo
    • the calf = la pantorrilla
    • the hair = el cabello / el pelo
    • the gums = las encías
    • the forehead = la frente
    • the eyelid = el párpado
    • the breast = el pecho (same as chest)
